My clients often joke that I make everyone cry in a Tarot reading. They are (KIND OF) right.
This is especially true in quickie reads — but let me explain the tears before you think I’m a taskmaster or wield my deck like a double-edged sword.
The tears are ones of release: that they’ve been heard, that they can lay it down for a few minutes when they have to always keep it together for everyone else, that I’m not there to judge but provide possibilities, that they can be sad and I empathize because I’ve faced much sadness in my life. The tears stem from Tarot being so fearlessly accurate but compassionate, too.
I know how hard it can be to cry, especially in front of a stranger. You’ll rarely see me shed tears in public because I prefer to grieve in private. However, I honor the emotions that my clients feel safe enough to express in a session — and it helps open my heart even more in this work.
