The Triple Goddess has been on my mind this week–namely, the Crone.

I spent a hot day last summer on a bumpy rock in the middle of the Williams River painting the Triple Goddess: Maiden, Mother, Crone.

There’s something about the sweet fullness of summer in Vermont — the richness of this brief life — that brings out the Crone.

The wisdom, reflection and a deep understanding that reaches beyond my 41 years.

That’s the Crone in me.

The green hues in Vermont have been breathtaking (it’s not called the “Green Mountain State” for nothin’). Add the blossoming trees, tulips and fields filled with dandelions — well, you can only imagine how this delights me after a very long winter. The beauty often brings me to tears.

This is my latest painting — “Green I”. It’s not for sale at the moment — I’m not ready to let go of it quite yet.

And I have to laugh at all of this end-of -the-world talk today. If this isn’t heaven, what is?

Enjoy the green.
