I am less and less on social media and wouldn’t be surprised if I give it up one day. However, the main stream of thought is that you must be visible in a community-driven, connected society, especially if you are an entrepreneur.
Well, yes and no. The best healers I know are not online and are word of mouth. They are not opposed to social media and may have a private page (except for the ones who blow up computers with their energy), but can’t be bothered with updates and checking feeds all day. Of course, the issue of privacy and surveillance is also a concern.
For me, it’s the simple quiet that waits when I step away from the din. Of course, when I think about going offline, my brain says, “You can’t! It’s 2017! You need to be seen! How will people know where to find you?”
God, I love my crazy brain. It kept me up half the night, worried about everything that felt out of control. I finally had to say, “I’m safe. All of my needs are met. Life is really, really good.” Then I walked outside at 5am, into the most magical scene of stars and galaxies shining down their light from eons ago. The owls called to each other, the creek meandered through the rocks and I drank my tea. Then I went back to sleep.
I’ve been in the game a long time. Social media adds to the excitement but it’s not necessary. I have a karmic date set with every client who crosses my path and we’ll find each other. But for now, I’ll still post as the raven flies….
