I was asked during a recent interview about writing a book when you have no time. Well, if you have no time (and we all have the same 24/7 as any era), then you won’t write your book.
You have decide whether it’s the right time to tell your story. My rule of thumb: if it’s stressful, lean back. Don’t believe writers who say you have to toil hours a day. It’s not true, and every writing process varies. I haven’t written much of anything in the last 6 months, but keep up with FB posts, website and other ways to express myself. Believe me, when my Muse comes to visit, she makes sure to knock loudly — and I grow curious enough to follow the trail.
Curiosity and joy get books written. Stress, anger, ego or fear can shut down a wellspring of creativity faster than you say “royalties”. Plus, there are many ways to tell your story. Writing is one — but not everyone is gifted with words. Find what works and feels easy, then utilize it.
