I’m asked all the time how to manifest what we want. First, we need to throw out the word because of overuse — but for the sake of this essay, I’ll use it (I’m allowed; I’m a Gemini.) Having a clear vision is key. This requires absolute faith in the power of your thoughts. Most of us were not raised to believe in our will, looking outside for answers. Having an active intention is not hammering your prayers to the Universe, hoping that someone hears you. It’s focusing daily on the belief that whatever you wish is about to arrive.
Whenever I travel, I spend time beforehand imagining my ideal trip. I imagine effortless flow and gorgeous accommodations, rides, priority check-in, quick security, rejuvenating sleep. This has brought amazing experiences — and I’m still surprised! This last trip I didn’t think, “I want a lovely suite in Portland when I check in.” Yet that is what was given. There was a bottle of champagne waiting and a private key to the top floor. This was not something I spoke during my intention but beautifully enhanced my trip. My room overlooked a quiet pond with geese, ducks and two herons (a sacred bird to me). Friendly, helpful people surrounded me.
I don’t think that you have to continually speak your desires. You’ve been heard. There is an art to letting go of the outcome, so imagine your Higher Self working diligently to bring what is best. There are aspects you can’t see, especially if other free wills are involved. You can only control your life and even that takes a light touch. Do your best to have steady faith and believe. It’s always good to say, “This or something better.” Because guess what? We’re human and sometimes what we think we want isn’t what is best (I’m an expert on that). It’s not your fault if it doesn’t come to you. It means that your path is been diverted to something better — but not seen until we are granted the wisdom of hindsight.
Whoever said spirituality is easy was lying. A daily practice takes devotion. It’s getting through the muck and belief systems that you’ve carried for decades. It’s removing negative influences and if you can’t, mitigating the effects. It’s changing your diet. It’s not listening to news and believing that you’re powerless. It’s allowing peace of mind and heart to be the goal. Abundance isn’t just money, as wonderful as money is. Abundance is an easy mind, an unexpected suite, an infrared sauna session that a client offers because they care and want you to relax. It’s having time with your family; it’s being able to sleep when you want; it’s having a healthy body and a life that you feel proud to live. Abundance is the grace to realize that you’re amazing and if you forget, look in the mirror, take a breath and say with conviction, I AM A FUCKING GODDESS. Then repeat. That’s abundance. The more that you can love yourself and realize how worthy and incredible and amazing you are, you’ll see how quickly all kinds of goodness flows in. Because finally, you realize that you deserve it. You always have deserved it.
