Think you have nothing to offer? Think again. Some of the greatest healers are those who have greatly suffered.
Sure, we’ve all suffered. The difference? Healers choose to transform their suffering, rather than root around in the common bitterness. In doing so, the portals of wisdom, understanding and empathy open to them.
You don’t need to go to school to be a healer. You don’t need anyone to “certify” that you are a healer. You don’t even need to say that you are a healer. However, it’s a life-long commitment. It’s devotion, baby. And it can be really, really difficult.
Being a healer is taking constant responsibility for our actions; not play the blame game, not be the victim of circumstance, parents or religion — and realize how amazingly powerful this life can be. (from my book of essays, “We Dream Anew“.
